A Michigan City man was pronounced deceased early Sunday morning after an accident that occurred near the intersection of Wall and Kentucky Streets according to a release issued by Michigan City Police.
According to the release, investigators say that 21-year-old Donavin Worland was traveling in a gray Nissan Altima on Wall Street toward Kentucky Street when for an unknown reason the vehicle traveled through a side yard of a residence, crossed Kentucky Street, traveled into the PowerDrive parking lot and struck two concrete parking barriers before crashing into a building.
Michigan City police and firefighters along with LaPorte County EMS and the LaPorte County coroner were dispatched to the scene at 8:53 a.m. at which time, Worland was immediately pronounced deceased.
