Residents gather at A & B Auction and Flea Market for the annual Christmas Auction to help families in need during the holidays.

MICHIGAN CITY – The seats were packed at A & B Auction and Flea Market on Michigan Boulevard Saturday night as residents joined in to support families in need during a Christmas auction.

The event began at 1 p.m. with an all-you-can-eat buffet and then the auction at 2 p.m. on Saturday and lasted into the late evening hours with many toys, holiday decorations, and other items being auctioned off one by one.

While many were there to snag great deals on new toys for Santa to place under the tree, some were also there to support the families the auction house adopted in the Salvation Army Christmas Program as well as donate toys for the Toys For Tots Drive.

The snack bar sold food and refreshments while accepting donations all to support those families this holiday season.

Some bidders would snag a deal on a toy and take one and tell the auctioneer to place the others in the Toys For Tots box.

Items sold included boy and girl toys, light up decorations, inflatable holiday yard decorations, Christmas trees, lights, wreaths, and much more.

A & B Auction and Flea Market will continue to sell more toys and decorations and accept donations for the Salvation Army and Toys For Tots.

You can visit their store at 2303 E. Michigan Blvd to join in and support those families or to find great deals on holiday presents.

For more information call A & B Auction and Flea Market at (219) 851-3395.
