Tornado sirens activated throughout Michigan City after Kingsbury officer spots funnel cloud.

MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. — Tornado sirens were heard throughout Michigan City Tuesday night after an officer in Kingsbury spotted a funnel cloud according to a Facebook post on LaPorte County E911’s Facebook page.

According to the organization’s update, the officer spotted the cloud near headed northeast with no rotation.

As a precaution, officials activated the sirens to warn residents.

Although no clouds have been spotted within the city, current weather conditions could lead to sudden touchdowns and resident are urged to be prepared and stay alert of tour surroundings.

A few minutes after their original post, the LaPorte County E911 announced that the funnel cloud was dissipating.
