Two arrested after police chase ends in crash

A man and woman were arrested after a police chase ended with them crashing into the A.K. Smith Career Center Monday evening.

Michigan City — A man and woman were arrested after a police chase ended with their vehicle crashing into the A.K. Smith Career Center building Monday evening.

The suspects were traveling at a high speed on Thurman Avenue headed toward Lafayette Street and reportedly attempted to make a left turn onto Lafayette Street when they collided with a concrete planter attached to the A.K. Smith Career Center.

A Michigan City patrol vehicle who followed immediately behind the suspects also had damage to their vehicle’s hood showing signs of an earlier collision during the chase.
